Democratic presidential hopeful and former vice president Joe Biden commended U.S. President Donald Trump for invoking the Defense Production Act for General Motors to make and supply masks, gowns and other personal protective equipment, but called out what he said was a “false choice” between the economy and public health and said it would be “catastrophic” to reopen the U.S. economy “without a plan.”
