Coronavirus outbreak: Trump says ‘certain people’ would like U.S. to remain shut to defeat him at the polls

In an exchange with a reporter during a media availability on Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump said he believed “certain people” would like U.S. businesses to remain closed and for the U.S. to do poorly financially “because they think that would be very good as far as defeating me at the polls.”
