Coronavirus outbreak: NWT declares public health emergency despite having no confirmed COVID-19 cases

Northwest Territories officials on Friday announced a public health emergency despite having no confirmed cases of COVID-19, the disease resulting from the novel coronavirus. Health Minister Diane Thom said the decision was made to be “proactive” in preventing spread of the disease across the territories.
