New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday he is enacting an executive order to reduce all businesses workforce in person staff by 50 percent, with the rest staying home. Cuomo said he understands the “burden to businesses,” but said “we’re past that point as a nation” and must first deal with the health crisis at hand. Governor Cuomo also said President Donald Trump is dispatching the U.S.S. Comfort hospital ship, to be docked in the New York harbor, providing more hospital bed capacity to the state, along with mobile hospitals provided by the federal government.
