Coronavirus outbreak: France imposes restrictions on movement to contain virus spread

On Monday, French President Emmanuel Macron ordered stringent restrictions on people’s movement that would last at least two weeks in order to slow the spread of COVID-19. He stated that they are “at war” with the virus, and circumstances demand that citizens should stay home and only go out for essential activities.
