Coronavirus outbreak: Shinzo Abe says Japan still preparing for 2020 Olympics, won’t declare national emergency

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said on Saturday that the country was still preparing to host the 2020 Summer Olympics, even as Japan saw its total number of COVID-19 cases rise to more than 1,440, according to local reports. He added that while U.S. President Donald Trump had declared a national emergency, there was no need to do so in Japan in his opinion.
