Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said on Saturday that the country was still preparing to host the 2020 Summer Olympics, even as Japan saw its total number of COVID-19 cases rise to more than 1,440, according to local reports. He added that while U.S. President Donald Trump had declared a national emergency, there was no need to do so in Japan in his opinion.
