European Union President Ursula von der Leyen said on Friday that the European Union’s goal is to develop guidelines and evidence-based strategies to deal with the spread of COVID-19, and are currently “just at the beginning” of these developments. She also said that all member states of the EU need to realize it isn’t possible to “stop” the virus, but they could contribute to slowing down the spread so health-care systems could keep up.
