Speaking to reporters in Ottawa on Thursday, Finance Minister Bill Morneau said he has been coordinating with provincial and international counterparts to make sure the Canadian economy is protected for the long term amid the coronavirus global outbreak. Morneau said he spoke Thursday with the managing director of the International Monetary Fund, and that Prime Minister Trudeau spoke the same day with U.K. PM Boris Johnson and U.S. president Trump.
