Speaking with reporters in the House of Commons on Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister Christya Freeland said she just had a “very practical, action-focused meeting” with the cabinet committee on the coronavirus effect on specific sectors of the Canadian economy. She added that the government is working on bulk procurement for the healthcare sector among other things, and the current situation needs federal leadership.
