Spring’s “kitten season” causes a great strain on already over-extended animal shelter resources. To deal with pregnant cats and numerous newborn kittens many shelters, including Lakefield Animal Welfare Society, coordinate foster homes that can offer focused care. Mary Power, long-time volunteer at LAWS brings in tow foster kittens and explains how the program works.
