Coronavirus outbreak: U.S. officials provide COVID-19 response, quarantined cruise ship passengers updates

Former FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb appeared on television show “Face The Nation” on Sunday to discuss the latest in the COVID-19 outbreak. He said that the outbreak in the U.S. is becoming an epidemic, and that “we’re past the point of containment.” He added that states and cities will have to shut down their economies in order to prevent a broader epidemic. Surgeon General Jerome Adam appeared on the show as well and said the U.S. government is still developing plans to care for passengers stuck on the Grand Princess cruise ship.
