During a press briefing at the White House on Friday, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci, said the risk of contracting COVID-19 is higher if individuals are elderly or have underlying health conditions including heart disease, lung disease, and kidney disease. He encouraged “social distancing” in order for individuals to protect themselves from contracting the illness.
