COVID-19: Trump says using word ‘hoax’ was reference to Democrats’ criticism of handling virus

U.S. President Donald Trump responded to questions over him using the term “hoax” during a rally in South Carolina while talking about the COVID-19 virus, saying he was referring to Democrats’ criticism of his administration’s response to the virus. He said he would never use the term hoax to refer to the coronavirus outbreak.
