Former Trump associate Roger Stone was sentenced to 40 months in prison on Thursday, a result of the case against him that stemmed from former special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. The sentence is far less than the seven to nine years originally recommended before it was overruled by Attorney General William Barr, following President Donald Trump’s tweets about the case.
