China reported on Thursday that the number of new confirmed cases in a single day fell below 400, with only 394 reported, a sharp decline from the 1,700 reported only a day earlier, saying it was partly because of a change in diagnostic criteria for patients in the Hubei province. The total number of deaths had rise slightly to 2,118.
