Bill Blair, the minister of public safety and emergency preparedness, said during question period on Tuesday that the RCMP had the “confidence” of the federal government as it works to bring an end to rail blockades across the country and that it is “not the role of government” to instruct the commander of the RCMP on how to handle the situation.
