Foreign Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne said on Thursday that 12 Canadians had tested positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus and they were working with Japanese officials to ensure consular services were being provided to all nationals onboard. He also said authorities may allow for some passengers to disembark and be quarantined onshore and Canada was waiting for more information on who may be allowed to leave the ship.
