Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told Canadian troops stationed in Kuwait that they were “essential” to the ongoing fight against Islamic militants, including Daesh. He also said Monday that many Canadians were thinking about their safety in January when troops were being moved from Iraq to Kuwait just hours before Iranian missiles were fired at two Iraqi bases housing Canadian, American and some coalition soldiers. No Canadians were injured but at least 50 U.S. troops developed concussions and other brain injuries as a result of the attacks.
