The World Health Organization (WHO) Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said Friday that the death toll from the coronavirus had reached 637, with 31,211 confirmed cases in China, and 270 cases in 24 countries outside China and one death. He also stressed again that the world was facing “severe disruption” in the market for personal protective equipment and called on people not to stockpile items like masks as they wanted to ensure equipment reached those who needed them most, like medical care professionals.
