Foreign Affairs Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne said on Wednesday that while 308 Canadians wanted to leave Wuhan, there were 211 on the manifest for the first plane because of the plane’s capacity, adding there were also other seats being occupied by medical personnel and other officials. He also said some allies had offered to fly Canadians home on their own evacuation planes from Wuhan, but said they are examining all options and waiting to see if there may be any empty seats on the first plane due to aspects like “no-shows.”
