The surface of the sun has been revealed in the highest detail yet in newly-released images. The images were captured by the recently completed Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope which sits near the summit of Haleakala volcano in Maui, Hawaii. Some people have taken to social media to compare the images to a tasty snack, such as caramel corn.
