Minister of Health Patty Hajdu said on Jan. 23 that the risk “remains low” for Canadians to contract the new strain of coronavirus, which originated in Wuhan, China. Hajdu added that there are some cases in the country under further examination, calling it a “good sign” that the Canadian public health system is responding.
