Speaking to reporters in Winnipeg on Tuesday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said his government continues to engage with the Chinese government in regards to Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig, two Canadian citizens detained by Chinese authorities, stressing that Canada is a country that respects “rule of law.”
