Speaking to reporters in Ottawa on Friday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that in his opinion, the loss of 57 Canadian citizens and 29 permanent residents who died when Iran shot down the Ukrainian International Airlines passenger jet last week represents a “national tragedy.”
