Petition on homelessness presented to Toronto mayor’s office has 25K signatures

A memorial was held on Tuesday for a man who became the City of Toronto’s thousandth homeless death. Advocates say the number is too high and do not want this to continue. They have collected a petition with 25,000 signatures calling on Mayor John Tory to declare homelessness a state of emergency.
