Addressing the nation in the wake of an Iranian missile attack on U.S. forces in Iraq, U.S. President Donald Trump said on Jan. 8 that while the United States has “great” military equipment, it doesn’t mean it has to be used against Iran because “American strength” is “the best deterrent.”
