Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the Republicans have the votes to pass a resolution to move ahead on impeachment trial without agreement on witnesses. Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said it would be unprecedented to move ahead with a trial without witnesses. Schumer went on to say that Democrats are telling Republican senators, “you can run, but you can’t hide.” Schumer and McConnell also addressed the increasing tensions between the U.S. and Iran since the killing of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani.
