On Friday, bystanders watched a “festival of lights” from streets and bridges as hundreds of kayaks decorated in Christmas lights floated down a canal in Copenhagen, Denmark to celebrate Saint Lucia’s Day. The 19th century tradition occurs during one of the darkest times of the year in Scandinavia.
