Thousands gathered in at Piazza del Duomo in Milan on Friday to watch as an “eco-friendly” Christmas tree made entirely of lights was switched on for the first time. The tree, which is composed of over 81,000 LED lights and is powered by energy from renewable sources, featured colourful video patterns and light animations.
