Some media trying to ‘smear’ China over leaked documents about Xinjiang, official claims

A spokesperson for China’s foreign ministry accused “certain media” of trying to “smear” the country over leaked documents about the situation of Muslim people in Xinjiang, which the documents show and witnesses have called a massive detention camp. The spokesperson claims Xinjiang is part of China’s counter-terrorism and de-radicalization efforts.
