During day four of the public impeachment hearings on U.S. President Donald Trump, Laura Cooper, deputy assistant secretary of defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia, told lawmakers on Wednesday that her staff had received an email on July 25 from the State Department that stated Ukraine’s embassy and the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee were asking about security assistance.
