Southern Alberta sugar beet farmers unable to harvest nearly half of 2019 crop

Canadian sugar company Rogers announced Thursday that severe fall weather in southern Alberta has forced the termination of the 2019 sugar beet harvest. As Danica Ferris reports, farmers in the area say 45 per cent of this year’s beets are now rotting in the ground.
