Senior rescued from house fire in Campbellford

An elderly man was rescued by firefighters following a house fire in Campbellford early Sunday morning.
Around 11:50 a.m., an off-duty firefighter spotted flames coming from a home at the corner of Centre and Cockburn streets.

Firefighters had to help a man get out of the home. A woman was able to get out by herself, Trent Hills firefighters said.
Both were taken to hospital.
Damage is estimated at $300,000, prompting the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal to investigate the cause of the blaze.
