Should Canadians be worried about the debt the government has accumulated?

In the last fiscal year that ended in March 2019, Canada’s federal government posted a $14-billion deficit. It’s common knowledge that as individuals we should do our best to live within our budget and although household debt and government debt are different, should the same philosophy apply to both?
