Indigenous advocate says stay of ruling could mean Ottawa decides if compensation happens

Cindy Blackstock, executive director of First Nations Child and Family Caring Society, said Friday that the federal government’s appeal of a ruling to compensate First Nations children was Ottawa asking for an order to “quash all compensation”, which she says would leave the decision of whether to compensate up to Ottawa.
