NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh said Sunday in Surrey, B.C. that provinces must be encouraged to bring in “real rent control” and said they also want to build affordable housing where people don’t need to worry about rent going up, but until those are built the NDP would put in place subsidies to help families with costs.
