Taking the anonymity out of the word “immigrant”. Yvonne Lai speaks about shared human experience and the needs of immigrants starting fresh in Canada, in some cases after years of waiting to arrive. Lai is Director of Community Development for New Canadians Centre Peterborough. The organization began 40 years ago in response to the needs of refugees fleeing Vietnam.
