The head of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration defended the agency and office on Tuesday as it remains at the centre of controversy over a tweet by President Donald Trump that said Alabama would be among the states hit “much harder than anticipated” by Hurricane Dorian, despite no models at the time of his tweet showing Alabama was in the storm’s path.
