Salvage and cleanup crews were called to the Cobourg Marina on Tuesday after a partially sunk boat was discovered.
Marina staff contacted the Cobourg Fire Department and the Canadian Coast Guard to investigate. No one was aboard the boat, officials confirmed.
Marina staff notified the boat’s owner. The individual was not in town during the incident.
Containment booms were set up to collect any fuel that may have leaked from the vessel. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
