World Suicide Prevention Day vigil looks to inspire hope

Since 2003, September 10th has been marked as World Suicide Prevention Day.

In 2019, vigils will be held around the world, including in Peterborough, to remember those lost to suicide, to recognize its survivors but still inspire hope.

Tanya Kowalenko of CMHA HKPR explains why “having the conversation” with loved ones is more important, and more successful in preventing suicide, than following the urge to avoid the topic completely.
