Peterborough could close city operated child care programs

Finding reliable child care is a struggle for many families- and that struggle is about to get much worse.
The City of Peterborough announced Thursday it is looking at closing city operated day care centres, and cancelling some before-and-after-school programs by June of next year.
The proposed changes would eliminate a number of city staff positions
and also force parents to find new child care options.
