The United Nations Security Council met to discuss India’s decision to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir on Aug. 16. India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Syed Akbaruddin said that India’s “committed” to ensure the situation “remains calm and peaceful.”
