Canadian government to offer $1.75 billion over eight years to dairy farmers

The Canadian federal government is offering $1.75 billion over the course of eight years to the country’s dairy producers, announced Agriculture Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau on Aug. 16. This is compensation is to offset any negative impacts from trade agreements for dairy farmers.
