Serena Williams says she ‘wanted to at least try’ despite injury

Serena Williams said on Sunday she had “awful spasms” going into the Rogers Cup final against Bianca Andreescu, but would have regretted it if she hadn’t tried to play. Williams added that she has had spasms before, and that they usually go away within 12-48 hours.
