Mitch McConnell says gun background checks will be ‘front and centre’ in fall, rejecting pleas to recall Senate

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell rejected pleas from more than 200 mayors, as well as Democrats, to recall senators to look at legislating gun background checks, instead saying Thursday that it would be “front and centre” in the fall.
