Puerto Rico’s governor’s office said Friday in a statement that secretary of state Pedro Pierluisi, tapped to be the next governor, was sworn in, but the state Senate balked at the claim saying that such a move was illegal as it had yet to confirm him as secretary, which would be needed for him to take Ricardo Rossello’s place.
