‘It is not possible to detect or deter something unless you are aware it exists’: Gillese report commissioner

The commissioner for the Elizabeth Wettlaufer inquiry, Eileen Gillese, said on July 31 that awareness is key to closing gaps in the long-term health-care system because it’s impossible to “detect or deter something unless awareness exists.” Elizabeth Wettlaufer is the nurse convicted for murdering multiple elderly people in her care.
