Iran’s foreign minister says U.S. policy is ‘economic terrorism’

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif attended a meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in Caracas, Venezuela on July 21, where he told member state representatives that U.S. policy was akin to “economic terrorism.” Tensions between Iran and the West ratcheted up on July 20 as Britain denounced the Iranian seizure of a British-flagged oil tanker, rejecting Tehran’s explanation that it had seized the vessel on July 19 because it had been involved in an accident.
