Qatar Airways signed an agreement with Boeing at the White House on July 9 to buy five 777 Boeing cargo planes as the airline works to increase its footprint around the world. The national airline was one of several businesses from Qatar that inked agreements for business with U.S. companies on defense, energy and aviation projects. The signing event took place during a visit by Qatar’s ruling emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
