Hong Kong stresses government responded to protests, UK stands behind former colony

Hong Kong’s chief executive Carrie Lam defended her government’s handling of protests, saying it was “not true” to say it did not respond, but with demonstrations continuing to keep Lam clinging to her job and the U.K. backing its former colony, there’s no end in sight to what is facing the territory.
